Washington DC!!!

Ha, another long period between my posts, hehehe :P Just try to post quickly, b4 I go to Florida!!!! Let's do it with flash back, not chronologically as usual :D Yeah, I've just been back from DC yesterday. It was a lot of fun with the cool, free museums there. Yes, all The Smithsonian Museums are free!!! So, the first one I went to was The National Air & Space Museum. They have collections of planes, rockets, etc from Wright brothers' to Skylab Space Station! Most of them are original, or at least have ever been used as the model for simulation on earth. There're also some stuffs used in wars, more planes, and yeah... unfortunately we just spent 1 hour or so there, coz we got there at 4.30 and they closed at 5.30. That's OK for me, but not for Milo or other TX Aero members if they come here :P

The next day, I went to the Capitol, where US Senate & House of Representatives work. After frozen for an hour to get the tickets, and once again-free, we entered The Capitol in a tour. And guess what? I met Nello, another exchange student from Switzerland with his host fam, while we were waiting in line! How fun! So yeah, we took the tour together, and coz me & Nello are exchange students, we got a chance to see The Senate & House while they're working: passing laws, voting, etc. After that, we went to American History Museum. This museum is awesome! See the pics in my Yahoo! Photos. So, that's all we did on that day.

The last day in DC, we went to The Holocaust Museum. This one frightened me a lot. I t tells us about The Holocaust period in World War II, how Nazi killed The Jews in absolutely violent & sadist ways, like gassing them in Concentration Camps all over Europe. This museum has many short videos about it, which scared me sooo much! Just like after watching a horror movie, NOOO!!! So yeah, we spent 4 hours there, but I was just in for 3 hours, and that's more than enough. I imagine how if I visit the Concentration Camp, like Kiki, my friend who goes AFS to Germany. Well, maybe I just got too much visualization by pictures & videos in that museum. Enough with that, we went to Asian & African Museum. Not so good as I thought, but some African art amazed me pretty much. The last thing, we went to International Spy Museum. Since this one is private-owned, we have to pay to get in :P Actually this museum is so cool, full of high tech equipment for spies! From the modern ones like lipstick gun, or how to change someone's face into someone completely different! But unfortunately, I'm running out of time now. Gonna go to Florida in 20 minutes... !!! ;) So... really sorry visitors, I'll write MANY things, not SOME.. after I get back... in 10 days... See you! Have fun --> It's especially for me ^^;

Hi, I'm eLLa. I'm just an ordinary Indonesian high school student. But I'm lucky to get a chance to spend one year as exchange student in Hinsdale, suburb in the west of Chicago, USA. So, here I am... And this is my blog about my life here. Don't be surprised - in many things, Indonesia & USA are really different. Also check out my latest pics at http://photos.yahoo.com/soto_betawi. Still wanna know more about me? Just send e-mail to soto_betawi@yahoo.com. I also use Yahoo!Messenger (soto_betawi) & AIM (lalapsambel)

I love my family & friends, they always support me. In Indonesia, I live with my mom & my sister, Ditta. She's 13 years old now. In USA, I live with my mom, dad & my brother, Milo. Actually I have 2 other brothers, John & Parker, but they go to college & don't live with the family.
My friends are important parts of my life, too. I always miss my friends in SMUN 8 Jakarta-my school, especially 2i & TX (doesn't mean I don't miss the others. I luv u all! :) and other AFS exchange students from all over Indonesia. Anyway, I have fun making friends here. I'm really close with the girls in swim team. They always have fun things to do. And also my friends in International Club, Computer Club, Drama Club, Amnesty International & Scholastic Bowl. Well, I enjoy hanging out with them, making more friends & learning more things :)
