After skiing, and... hey, just a quick entry now!

OK, I'm trying to post at least once a week now :P Starting from Friday, Feb 6: my first time skiing! I wondered when I'd have time to go skiing b4. But then we got an invitation for AFS ski party in Lisle, which is not far from here. Even my dad was surprised, coz d place where we live is really FLAT. well, they have man made hill & snow there. It's fun! I can't believe I learned skiing pretty fast, although still scarying when It went really fast. Bunny hill is nothing now, hehehe :D So yeah, that's fun. I'll post some pics later...

Then on saturday, went to Ashley's party. But since we thought it would be so long (3-8 pm!), me, Ryan & Pearl decided to find present for her (cute Dory ;) in Yorktown first. Fun for Ryan taking 2 girls shopping, hmm? :P Then, movie! with Selina, too... and we got to Ashley by around 6. Haha, really late for a party starting at 3 pm, huh? :D Just ate pizza & watched movie there, then went to Best Buy to get my USB drive! Finally I bought it... really useful for moving things, though *try to tidy my folders in comp*

Let's see... during the week, just homeworks, quizes & tests as usual... Started doing drama crew, and.. Assassin Game started last Thursday! Yay, almost got him last Valentine night, but it didn't count! OK, fine! *thinking about the way to kill* :P Friday night, Ryan ditched CCMC again to drive us, so we all could go to Jo's house on Val's eve to watch... Finding Nemo! Hahaha... I always love that movie. Then, what other movies did we watch? Oh yeah, some parts of Scent of A Woman, and Life of Brian. I didn't really pay attention for the last movie, though... Yay, these crazy people love movie better than anyone in d world! ;)

OK, Val's day... After changing plans a thousand times, finally me, Ryan, Laura, Seb, and Jo had dinner in Cafe Salsa. Tasty Mexican food, along with d joke: Mexicans make 37 names for all d same thing: Tortilla with beans, cheese & meat :D Then watched The Ring (On Val's night? :P) in Ryan's house. Yeah, that's our Val movie. Romantic, huh? Huehehe... Oh yeah, with d fact that I met my victim for Assassin in Jewel in that night, but failed to killl him! Haha, got obsessed on that game since then, which means yesterday. Yeah, coz everybody's somewhere else, just me & Ryan watched Cheaper by The Dozen: nice family movie... haven't watched that kind of movie for long time. Yeah, not too many choice in that theater. Ryan's car is being crazy, need something to be repaired. Until then, we can't go too far :( Hope ur car's getting better Ryan, so we can go to Yorktown! :D

New term, new spirit! ;)

Hi guys... It's been extremely looong time since I updated my blog for the last time. Many things kept me busy these days. Lots of things to do, lots of fun will come! ;) Yeah, on the weekend after finals basicly I just hanged out with Ryan, Laura, Jo & Brian as usual. With other additional people sometimes... Watching movies, eithe rin Jo's house or movie theatre. For full info, I'm just gonna copy from Ryan's blog. Don't worry, I'll give u da copyright! :P Here's the weekend after final:

On Thursday, 'round 4PM, we went to Joakim's place to watch some movies. Let's see, we watched Fargo, Jumping Up (errr, Falling Down rather...hehe), and part of some Al Pacino movie. We didn't get to finish it 'cause of the evil thing known as curfew! Btw, I got a pic that night: Me, Chad & Jo

On Friday, I & Ryan went to Stir Crazy for lunch. That place is awesome, thanks to Laura for giving me the gift card! Then we stopped by Best Buy, Microcenter, and some other places. You know, just some time to chill. Then, we met the others at dinner (Baker's Square). I had some sort of certificate for a free pie so we ended up with a brownie pie. Hm, can somebody explain this to me? The concept of a big piece of brownie a 'round shape of a pie, but it is inherently just a brownie, not a pie, right? Just teasing, guys. It still tasted good. Eventually we ended up at Yorktown for a movie. We intended to see Butterfly Effect, but they tried to card. Phew, since some of us are not 17 yet, so we ended up seeing Mona Lisa's Smile. Afterward, we returned to finish the movie from the previous night, but we still didn't ' finish cause it is super long... I got more pics:

So, that's Brian & Jo. Isn't Jo so cute? I'm sure he'll get lots of things this Val's day from his secret admirers :P

On Saturday, I went to a meeting for Florida Spring Tour for exchange students. Can't wait for that! It should be really fun ;) Then, got to bowling alley with Brian for Butler's party and somehow I saw a car in parking lot which I was sure that's Ryan's! He said that he couldn't come. So, we thought maybe that's someone else's car. But then, we saw Ryan got out of the building with a girl, while I was with Brian. Hmm, is there a "ditching phenomenon" between us? :P Huahaha, that's just so funny :D Don't worry guys, we're OK... Well, on our way back to Jo's house (again?!!), Brian threw out! He was driving, so we stopped in an empty parking lot, helped him cleaning his car in cold icy evening. Fortunately, there were Laura & Jo, too at that time. Then, he decided to go home instead of watching movie and we waited for Ryan to take us home. He had fun dinner with his Spanish teacher that evening. (That's so wrong! :P). Yeah, watched There's Something 'Bout Mary -Harry's fave movie- *I miss u!* and had that Build Me Up song stuck in my head for a week or so...

Poor Brian, he was absent for 3 days last week. We still made the car project for physics, though. And we proved that balloon's da best force for self-powered car! :P Yeah, new term is fun, some new classes. Let's see, the flash class - give me time for designing, PE - I'm so bad in volleyball! Let's change to another sport, please :P English: expos writing - not too bad, with d fact that Ryan's in this class, too, Intro to Java - fun people in this class! And Mr. Kick's still amazed with the fact that I'm from the island of Java :P Psychology's not bad, although I think that's a mistake that I take this class. I'm not a social study person - so bad in memorizing text book, but good in memorizing people's schedule ;) Oh yeah, I also taught some Indonesian stuffs, games & food to a girl scout group on Friday. It's pretty fun!

Last weekend, we made scones (kind of bread) in Jo's house! Not too bad, seeing those guys cooking :D And also fried Oreos! Last, of course movies again. Good times :) Then, woke up early on Saturday morning for AFS orientation camp. Always nice to see other exchange students from different countries... can't believe that I'll go home soon :( On Sunday, of course Superbowl Party! But our party (with drama people) was "Superbowl Party for people who don't watch football". Yeah, we played poker, Risk & some other games, not necessarily paying attention to d football game :P But of course that Janet thing is crazy! Met some new people there, who I always meet in the hallways these days. That's good...

And starting from this week, I'll be really busy for Indonesian AFS newsletter, drama publicity co-head crew, more homework, and... what else? Well, that's why I almost never have time to post my blog or chatting. Now I just use internet for e-mail! Not even time in classes, coz I'd enter another world once I start to design/program. Just think that I'm gonna have more stuffs to do this term. I don't wanna waste my time here, which is getting shorter... Try to do more things, make more & closer friends, and of course... HAVE FUN! :)

Hi, I'm eLLa. I'm just an ordinary Indonesian high school student. But I'm lucky to get a chance to spend one year as exchange student in Hinsdale, suburb in the west of Chicago, USA. So, here I am... And this is my blog about my life here. Don't be surprised - in many things, Indonesia & USA are really different. I love my family & friends, they always support me. In Indonesia, I live with my mom & my sister, Ditta. She's 13 years old now. In USA, I live with my mom, dad & my brother, Milo. Actually I have 2 other brothers, John & Parker, but they go to college & don't live with the family.
My friends are important parts of my life, too. I always miss my friends in SMUN 8 Jakarta-my school, especially 2i & TX (doesn't mean I don't miss the others. I luv u all! :) and other AFS exchange students from all over Indonesia. Anyway, I have fun making friends here. I'm really close with the girls in swim team. They always have fun things to do. And also my friends in International Club, Computer Club, Drama Club, Amnesty International & Scholastic Bowl. Well, I enjoy hanging out with them, making more friends & learning more things :)
